The Machining Assistant will work in the Florida Tech machine shop to support undergraduate and graduate student training and fabrication. This entails working with full time staff and student employees to deliver curriculum for designed to train users on machining equipment like mills, lathes, drill press, band saws, grinders, etc. The Machining Assistant will also fabricate parts for internal and external projects. This is a part-time position for up to 20 hours per week.

 

  • Hands on machining training for machine shop users
  • Machining parts for research and student projects
  • Prepping materials and coursework for hands on teaching
  • Grading online material for hands on training
  • Other duties to support the machine shop as assigned

 

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 0–2 years of relevant work experience required
