Housing Coordinator

Florida Institute of Technology is currently searching for a Housing Coordinator for the Housing department. This position is full-time.

The Housing Coordinator is responsible for providing support to Florida Tech Housing.  The position will assist in inspecting rooms prior to residents arriving and at their departure.  The Housing Coordinator will work with Facilities to coordinate furniture and appliance needs and replacement.  The employee will collaborate with the lockshop to conduct key audits and maintain key requests.  This position communicates with the representatives from ELS to prepare for incoming ELS students living on-campus.    

In collaboration with the Campus Services Coordinator, the Housing Coordinator will assist in managing the front office area of Campus Services. 

This position will regularly work with campus partners in Facilities, Custodial, Residence Life, and Dining Services.      

This employee should feel comfortable with technology and will be using software programs such as Banner, Workday, CS Gold, and HMS.  The position requires an employee to be organized, a team player, and have the ability to prioritize tasks.  The Campus Services Coordinator will report to the Assistant Vice President of Housing and Campus Services.  

This position will require occasional work on the weekends to assist with special campus events.     

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Walk through vacate rooms prior to student arrival to ensure the space is clean and fixtures (lights, appliances, etc.) are functioning properly.  When students depart, walkthrough the space to assess if any damage or repairs are needed and work with Facilities to restore the room to ready condition.    
  • Assist with managing the front reception area of Campus Services to include answering telephone calls, responding to email inquiries, and processing IDs.
  • Departmental liaison with ELS program to ensure rooms are ready for participants prior to arrival and inspecting rooms after students have departed.  Collaborate with Residence Life Staff to check-in participants and ensure there is clean linen for the rooms.  Work with ELS Staff to ensure all participants will be able to obtain ID numbers.    
  • Take the lead on keeping track of residential keys.  This includes working with the Assistant Director of Housing to prepare keys for student room changes and tracking if keys are are returned when a student departs housing.  Responsible for making key packets at the start of the fall, spring, and summer semesters for students living on-campus.  
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Housing.
  • Meet representatives for appliance delivery and collaborate with Facilities to ensure proper installation.
  • Participate in special campus events and open houses (for example: Discovery Day, campus opening and check-outs, housing sign-up day.





  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience required in area of expertise
  • Basic computer skills; Skilled in general administrative tasks such as record keeping and analysis of information
