Florida Tech is currently searching for a Programmer Analyst for the University Application Systems department.  This is a full-time position.

The Programmer Analyst is responsible for the development of technical solutions regarding University Application Systems.  The Programmer Analyst works directly with departments and Information Technology to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into fully developed and delivered system process solutions including integrations.

Job Responsibilities
- Work with departments and Information Technology to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements to ultimately develop a process that satisfies the requirements.
- Determines the data to be integrated and evaluated against the technical requirements.
- Analyze, test, and document solution logic and specifications.
- Work with departments to conduct user acceptance testing and ensure accurate data is being delivered.
- Coordinate testing with third-party vendors to ensure integrations are functional both from the University side and from the sending/receiving software system.
- Perform ongoing troubleshooting and fixing of business processes and integrations.
- Develop and enhance working knowledge through training, independent research, and testing to stay apprised of new system product functionality.

 

Experience/Skills List:

- Understanding of the various software development lifecycles.

- Experience in writing functional requirements and test specifications.

- Strong analytical skills applied to understanding business functionality and translating them into actual requirements for software design.

- Demonstrating proficiency with mapping, analyzing, and re-engineering business processes in an organization of considerable size and complexity with diverse customer needs.

- Interpersonal skills to build relationships, effectively interacting with diverse groups and constituencies with differing priorities and perspectives.

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise.

- Experience building and maintaining applications using C# .NET or equivalent programming language

- Experience with HTML, JavaScript and web development frameworks (AngularJS, Bootstrap, jQuery)

- Familiarity with Relational Databases and SQL

- Experience with Web services development (SOAP, REST)

- 3+ years of application development experience

- BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
