Registration Assistant (Temporary)

Florida Institute of Technology is currently searching for a Registration Assistant for the Continuing Education department. This is a full-time, temporary position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answer phone in a customer friendly manner; provides proactive customer service, answer emails
  • Register students for courses, process payment for courses and proactively problem solve student issues
  • Prepare receipts for students and complete section changes
  • Input and insure accuracy of student data in Banner and in Semtek student records, complete password resets for students and maintain student records
  • Develop and maintain rapport and communications with Continuing Education students and answer their questions in a professional, timely and courteous manner
  • Process, scan and file paperwork related to course registration and other student and course related documents
  • Ensure student records are up to date
  • Assist students on navigating online courses and basic internet navigation
  • Proactively seek information and submit for update to email template, flyers and other documents
  • Deliver documents to other departments and to local businesses
  • Provide backup to other team members' duties as necessary

Education/Skills required:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of previous work experience in related field
  • Excellent customer service and phone skills - call center experience is strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - typing at least 40 wpm
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills to include mail merges and Microsoft Excel experience to include pivot tables
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast paced atmosphere
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
