Programmer Technician

Florida Institute of Technology is currently searching for a Programmer Technician for the Academic Support Center.  This is a part-time position.



Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Program and Update the HUB student tracking system
  • Develop and Create documentation for end users and for succeeding technicians
  • Coordinate software updates and dataset security with IT
  • Train and assist students, staff, and faculty (in departments) with using the student database tracking system(HUB)
  • Provide support, including but not limited to training designated editors in using the university's content management system, developing visual and/or written content for social media and creating and/or delivering presentations; support Office of Disability Services with testing area when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education / skills required:

  • Associate's degree or vocational or technical school degree required
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant work experience required
  • Minimum of one year of programming related experience
  • PHP, C++, MySQL, web services, RESTFUL API's
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, and outlook);
  • Strong attention to detail; Must be able to prioritize tasks and work closely with others

* Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.
