Florida Institute of Technology is currently searching for a Budget Analyst for the Athletics Department. This is a full-time position. 

The Budget Analyst is responsible for the preparation of operating budgets and financial records, statistics, and reports regarding operations, personnel changes, and finance. The Budget Analyst also provides financial information to the Coaches and Athletic Director. Additionally, this position is responsible for vendor purchases, either though purchase orders or with procurement cards, and for working closely with the controller's office to ensure compliance with all university policies and accounting practices.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Works with Accounts Payable to create requisitions, purchase orders and receivers. Keeps the sports teams in financial compliance with university policy. Responsible for any other documentation pertaining to purchases or payment of services, required by Accounts Payable.
  • Analyzes budgets and budget related documents. Responsible for code procurement card charges and monitor the compliance of these purchases, as well.
  • Meets with coaches to review the expenses and revenue for their operating budget, camp budgets, and fundraising budgets. Works with Institutional Research to provide the data for the EADA report. Takes the lead on the NCAA report for the university and verifies information is accurate.
  • Creates journal vouchers and budget adjustments to maintain the budget. Creates EPAFs to hire personnel. Work with the controller's office to create upcoming budgets
  • Makes deposits for Clemente Center, game tickets, and any other athletic revenue source.
  • Prepares budgets and develops forecasts based on past spending. Provides monthly budget reports for each sport. Meets with coaches to make sure all purchasing and hiring practices are implemented correctly.
  • Responsible for the accountability and property control of university keys, cell phones, computers and laptops . Also, responsible for purchase and distribution of these items.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Athletics Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent knowledge obtained through a combination of education, training and experience)
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience required in area of expertise

* Official transcript of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment.
