Marketing Coordinator

Florida Tech is searching for a Marketing Coordinator for the Marketing department.  This is a full-time position. 

The Marketing Coordinator is an agile and strategic marketing generalist who provides tactical support for the marketing team and makes vital contributions to marketing, advertising, social media and promotional communications initiatives that enhance the reach and resonance of the university brand. The Marketing Coordinator has a wide variety of responsibilities; daily marketing tasks may include social media management, copy writing, providing marketing and web support to internal clients, completing and routing paperwork, compiling reports, taking pictures/video, conducting research, interacting with vendors and participating in meetings. The Marketing Coordinator is expected to exhibit tact, professionalism, enthusiasm and a service-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides direct administrative, creative and tactical marketing support to other members of the Marketing team.
  • Writes marketing copy and web content for assets including but not limited to landing pages, scripts, presentations, blogs, fact sheets, social media, ads, university magazines, and downloadable materials.
  • Performs environmental scans, SWOT analyses, ad-hoc fact finding, and market research to support the launch of new programs and services; assess markets and makes recommendations.
  • Researches, pitches, plans and secures digital and print media/advertising; tracks and reports results.
  • Manages marketing storage room and giveaway inventory, video and audio equipment, marketing-owned displays and collateral materials, etc.
  • Event marketing support and other general marketing duties as assigned.

Education/Skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, creative writing, film/video, communications, advertising, journalism, marketing, web design, or any related humanities or business field
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Broad understanding of marketing, advertising, communications and PR
  • Experience with popular social media platforms (active user preferred)
  • General understanding and appreciation for the value of higher education
  • Competent writer and communicator
