Founded at the dawn of the Space Race in 1958, Florida Institute of Technology is the only independent, technological university in the Southeast, and offers degree programs at undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. Located two miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean in Melbourne, FL, Florida Tech mixes the excitement of rocket launches from nearby Kennedy Space Center with the laidback atmosphere of a beach community. The School of Psychology has a collegial and productive faculty with multiple undergraduate programs, as well as graduate programs in I/O psychology and clinical psychology (PsyD). There is a neuropsychology emphasis area within both the undergraduate and the clinical psychology graduate programs, and neuro-related research opportunities exist in sports concussion through the Florida Tech Concussion Management Program, and in dementia and Alzheimer’s disease through an affiliation with the East Central Florida Memory Disorder Clinic.
