Florida Institute of Technology is currently searching for a Major Gift Specialist for the Office of Development.  This is a full-time position.

The Major Gifts specialist is responsible for the qualification, cultivation and solicitation of major and planned gifts. The individual will manage a portfolio of approximately 100 individual alumni, friends, and foundations capable of supporting the University with gifts of $25,000 or more. Work with prospects will include facilitating communications and strategy development with faculty, staff and volunteer leaders and will involve significant travel. The candidate will be expected to understand higher education philanthropy and have a good ability to articulate the importance of support for the university. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Identify 20-30 new prospects/year and secure visits to engage potential future major donors in the mission of Florida Tech.
• Develop and implement a donor-centered and mission-centered cultivation and stewardship strategy for each individual in the portfolio. Record all activities in Raiser's Edge and meet annual moves goals
• Plan solicitation schedule and solicit gifts toward individual and team fundraising goals. Draft gift agreements, instruments, case statements, letters and other documents as needed.
• Other duties as assigned, including assisting with leadership advisory boards, assisting in team projects and activities, and assisting in cross-departmental collaborations.
 

 

 

Education/Skills required:
• 1-3 years of professional or related academic experience.
• B.S. degree

Official transcript of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES). Required certification or license must be uploaded when submitting application for employment.
