Florida Tech is currently searching for an IR Reporting Analyst for the Institutional Research department.  This is a full-time position.

This position is responsible for the reporting of institutional data, specifically university census data, internally and externally at the university.  This includes university census reports, federal and state required reporting such as IPEDS and HEA data items, and external guidebook and rankings request such as US News.  This position will emphasize data standards and cleanliness and will work closely with the AVP on transitioning key reporting in Workday.

This position is service focused and communicates directly with administrators, faculty, and outside requestors and leads data responses with other institutional offices. Accuracy, strong communication skills, and a collaborative nature are key.
 

 

  • Data Reporting: Coordinates internal and external reporting of Institutional Research census information.  This includes serving as the university's IPEDS keyholder, coordinating the completion of all IPEDS reports accurately.  Coordinates university response to external data guidebook and rankings requests.  Prepares university's internal census reporting.
  • Data Management: Extracts, manages and manipulates data sets, prepares and maintains data files; verifies data to ensure data integrity.  Serves as the office liaison to the Workday report development.  Emphasizes the need for clear data definitions and the quality of the data in the university systems.
  • General Institutional Research: Responds to university community's ad hoc requests for IR census data.  Analyze these requests to develop pro-active strategies to address these user needs.
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

Education / skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.  Master's degree is strongly preferred.  Educational background (and/or experience) emphasizing institutional research, appropriate quantitative skills, information technology, or research is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience required in area of expertise.
  • Ability to extract, manage, and maintain data sets.
  • Ability to query existing data sets to answer questions and to merge multiple datasets when needed.
  • Experience with guidebooks, rankings request, federal and state reporting, IPEDS, and higher education compliance a must.
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of querying software, stats software, or a coding language preferred.
  • The ability to manage multiple data requests and projects at the same time on varying deadlines is key.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently but with a high level of customer service focus is critical.
