Florida Institute of Technology is currently searching for a HVAC II for the Facilities department.  This is a full-time position.

Work involves performance of skilled Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration tasks in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing a variety of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration and ventilation systems for the entire campus to include on and off site.  Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional overtime.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Daily inspections and maintenance of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration and ventilation systems
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair or replace equipment and systems as directed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Maintain and submit records regarding time and materials expended on projects
  • Carry rotating cell phone for after-hours emergency calls - may be required to work evenings and weekends in an emergency
  • Hurricane preparedness and cleanup
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, clean and orderly condition.
  • Additional Duties as assigned


Education/Skills required:

  • High school diploma 
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience required in area of expertise
  • Brevard County Air Conditioning Journeyman's license
  • 10 hour OSHA certification (preferred)
  • EPA 608 Universal refrigerant recovery certification
  • Valid State of Florida driver's license and maintain a good driving record per Florida Tech insurance guidelines
