Assistant Professor of Behavior Analysis

Florida Institute of Technology is searching for an Assistant Professor of Behavior Analysis for the School of Behavior Analysis. This is a part-time position.

The Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) School of Behavior Analysis seeks
applications for half-time assistant professor positions in behavior analysis to begin as
early as January 2019. The program is rapidly growing so the ideal candidate should be
available for the Summer 2019 semester and the 2019-2020 academic year as well,
with continued opportunities assessed as needed. All of the work assignments will be in
our master’s program in professional behavior analysis that is offered online. Relocation
is not required. Duties include supervising practicum students, supervising capstone
projects, and teaching didactic courses three 15-week terms per year. All duties are
remote, conducted online with students.

Florida Tech’s ABA first behavior analysis program was established in 1998. Since then
it has grown to offer four different master’s degrees, a doctoral degree, and an online
degree in behavior analysis. The mission of our online M.A. Professional Behavior
Analysis Degree Program is to produce competent science-informed practitioners who
are solidly grounded in basic principles derived from the experimental analysis of
behavior, who approach problems in a conceptually systematic way tied to those basic
principles, who will attain BCBA® certification, who adhere to best data-based and
evidenced-based ABA practices, and who will continue to inform their practice with
current research findings.

A doctorate in behavior analysis or related discipline, with an emphasis in behavior
analysis, is required; however, doctoral candidates will be considered. The successful
applicant must either be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D). The
ideal applicant will have teaching and supervisory experience. She or he should be able
to teach courses in applied behavior analysis, experimental analysis of behavior and
conceptual analysis with the focus of training future practitioners in the basic science
and philosophy of our discipline, while equipping them to work as BCBA practitioners in
the public and private sector.
