Job Details

Florida Institute of Technology is currently searching for a HVAC II for the Facilities department.  This is a full-time position.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Daily inspections and maintenance of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration and ventilation systems
  • Installation and/or replacement equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Maintain and submit records regarding time and materials expended on projects
  • Carry rotating cell phone for after-hours emergency calls - may be required to work evenings and weekends in an emergency
  • Hurricane preparedness and cleanup
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, clean and orderly condition


Education/Skills required:

  • High school diploma 
  • Minimum of five years job related experience, education may substitute for experience
  • Minimum of four years as a journeyman
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
  • Must have a valid Florida driver's license and maintain good driving record
  • Must have Refrigerant Recovery Certification or ability to obtain one within determined timeframe
  • Brevard County HVAC Journeyman's License or ability to obtain one within determined timeframe
  • All required OSHA training such as but not limited to; HIPAA, Universal Precautions-Blood-Borne Pathogens & Ladder Safety, Lock Out / Tag Out
  • Food service refrigeration experience is preferred
